Israel
The national flag of Israel features a white field with two horizontal blue stripes near the top and bottom and a blue Star of David at the center. The blue stripes are inspired by the traditional Jewish prayer shawl (tallit), while the Star of David represents Jewish identity, unity and heritage.
The current national flag of Israel was officially adopted on October 28, 1948, a few months after the declaration of independence. Its design is based on the flag of the Zionist movement, first introduced in the late 19th century.
