Malaysia
The national flag of Malaysia, known as the Jalur Gemilang, consists of fourteen alternating red and white stripes with a blue canton containing a yellow crescent and a 14-point star. The stripes represent the federation's states and federal territories, blue symbolizes unity, yellow represents the monarchy, and the crescent signifies Islam.
Malaysia officially adopted its national flag on September 16, 1963, following the formation of Malaysia. The design originated from the Federation of Malaya flag adopted in 1950 and was adapted to represent the enlarged federation.
