Rwanda

The national flag of Rwanda consists of three horizontal bands of blue, yellow and green with a golden sun in the upper-right corner. Blue symbolizes peace and happiness, yellow represents economic development, green stands for hope and the country's natural prosperity, while the sun signifies enlightenment, unity and a bright future.

Rwanda officially adopted its current national flag on October 25, 2001. It replaced the previous flag after the 1994 genocide and was designed to symbolize national unity, reconciliation and a new beginning for the country.
