Nepal
The national flag of Nepal is the world's only non-rectangular national flag, formed by two crimson pennants with a blue border featuring a white crescent moon and sun. The crimson color symbolizes bravery and the national flower, the rhododendron, while the blue border represents peace. The moon and sun signify calmness, determination and the enduring existence of the nation.
Nepal officially adopted its current national flag on December 16, 1962, with the promulgation of the new constitution. The distinctive double-pennant design is rooted in centuries of Nepalese tradition and reflects the country's unique cultural identity.
