Korea North
The national flag of North Korea consists of a broad red horizontal stripe bordered by narrow white stripes with blue bands at the top and bottom, and a red five-pointed star within a white circle near the hoist. Red symbolizes revolutionary spirit and patriotism, white represents the Korean people and national identity, blue stands for sovereignty, peace and friendship, and the red star signifies socialism.
The current national flag of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was officially adopted on September 8, 1948, shortly before the establishment of the state. It replaced the traditional Taegukgi and has remained the country's national flag ever since.
