Grenada
The national flag of Grenada features a red border with six gold stars, a central red circle with another gold star, and green and yellow triangles with a nutmeg symbol near the hoist. Red symbolizes courage and vitality, gold represents wisdom, sunshine and warmth, green reflects agriculture and fertile land, while the stars stand for the nation's parishes and Carriacou and Petite Martinique. The nutmeg honors Grenada's world-famous spice industry.
Grenada officially adopted its current national flag on February 7, 1974, when it gained independence from the United Kingdom. Designed by Anthony C. George, the flag reflects the country's unity, prosperity and cultural heritage.
