Eswatini
The national flag of Eswatini, formerly known as Swaziland, features horizontal bands of blue, yellow, crimson and blue with a black-and-white Nguni shield, two spears and a staff at the center. Blue symbolizes peace and stability, yellow represents the country's natural resources, crimson commemorates historic struggles, and the shield and spears stand for protection, heritage and unity.
The flag was first introduced on October 6, 1968, when the country gained independence from the United Kingdom. It was retained after the country's official name changed from Swaziland to the Kingdom of Eswatini in 2018, continuing as a symbol of national identity and cultural tradition.
