Andorra
The national flag of Andorra consists of three vertical stripes in blue, yellow and red with the national coat of arms centered on the yellow stripe. Blue and red reflect the historic influence of France, while yellow and red symbolize the heritage shared with Spain. The coat of arms represents the country's independence, history and the co-princes who jointly serve as heads of state.
The Andorran flag evolved from earlier blue and red designs before the yellow stripe and coat of arms were added in the 19th century. The current version was officially standardized in 1993 with the adoption of Andorra's constitution, reaffirming the principality's sovereignty and unique political system.
