Equatorial Guinea
The national flag of Equatorial Guinea consists of three horizontal stripes in green, white and red with a blue triangle at the hoist and the national coat of arms centered. Green symbolizes the country's forests and natural resources, white represents peace, red honors the struggle for independence, and blue reflects the Atlantic Ocean connecting the mainland and islands.
Equatorial Guinea officially adopted its current national flag on August 21, 1979. The design restored the national coat of arms after a previous version had used a different emblem. It symbolizes the country's sovereignty, unity and rich natural heritage.
