Ireland

The national flag of Ireland is a vertical tricolour of green, white and orange. Green symbolizes the Gaelic tradition and Irish nationalism, orange represents the followers of William of Orange and the Protestant community, while white stands for lasting peace and reconciliation between the two traditions.

Ireland officially adopted the tricolour as its national flag in 1937, although it first gained prominence during the Young Ireland movement in 1848 and became widely recognized during the 1916 Easter Rising and the Irish struggle for independence.
