Adygeja

The flag of the Republic of Adygea features a green background with twelve golden stars and three crossed golden arrows. The green color traditionally symbolizes the forests, fertile land and natural beauty of the North Caucasus, while also representing hope and peace.

The twelve stars represent the twelve historical Circassian (Adyghe) tribes. The three crossed arrows symbolize unity, readiness to defend the homeland and the desire for peace, reflecting traditional Circassian values.

The flag of Adygea is based on the historic Circassian flag created during the 19th century, when the Circassian people sought to unite against foreign domination in the Caucasus. It became an important symbol of Circassian identity and national unity.

Following the establishment of the Republic of Adygea within the Russian Federation, the historic design was officially adopted in the early 1990s. Today it represents the republic's cultural heritage, history and the identity of the Adyghe people.
