Slovenia
The national flag of Slovenia consists of three horizontal stripes in white, blue and red with the national coat of arms near the hoist. The white, blue and red are Pan-Slavic colors representing freedom, unity and national identity. The coat of arms depicts Mount Triglav above two wavy blue lines symbolizing the Adriatic Sea and rivers, with three golden stars representing the historic Counts of Celje.
Slovenia officially adopted its current national flag on June 25, 1991, upon declaring independence from Yugoslavia. The design retained the traditional Slavic tricolour while introducing a new national coat of arms created by Marko Pogačnik to reflect Slovenia's geography and heritage.
