Niger
The national flag of Niger consists of three horizontal stripes in orange, white and green with an orange disc centered in the white stripe. Orange symbolizes the Sahara Desert in the north, white represents purity and hope, green reflects the fertile southern regions and agriculture, while the orange disc represents the sun and national independence.
Niger officially adopted its current national flag on November 23, 1959, shortly before gaining independence from France in 1960. The design incorporates the Pan-African colors and reflects the country's geography and aspirations.
