Jordan

The national flag of Jordan consists of three horizontal stripes in black, white and green with a red triangle at the hoist containing a white seven-pointed star. The colors are the Pan-Arab colors representing Arab history and unity. The seven-pointed star symbolizes the seven verses of Al-Fatiha, faith, unity and the aspirations of the Jordanian people.

Jordan officially adopted its national flag on April 16, 1928. The design is based on the flag of the Arab Revolt of 1916 and reflects the country's historical ties to the Hashemite dynasty and the wider Arab independence movement.
