Micronesia Federated States

The national flag of the Federated States of Micronesia features a light blue field with four white five-pointed stars arranged in a diamond. The blue background symbolizes the Pacific Ocean, while the four stars represent the four states of Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei and Kosrae united as one nation.

The current national flag was officially adopted on November 30, 1978, when the Federated States of Micronesia became a self-governing federation. It remained the national flag after independence under the Compact of Free Association with the United States in 1986.
