Lithuania

The national flag of Lithuania consists of three horizontal stripes in yellow, green and red. Yellow symbolizes the sun, prosperity and hope, green represents the country's forests, nature and freedom, while red stands for the courage, sacrifice and resilience of the Lithuanian people.

Lithuania first adopted the yellow, green and red tricolour on April 25, 1918. It was restored as the national flag on March 20, 1989, before the country re-established its independence from the Soviet Union in 1990.
