Gambia
The national flag of The Gambia consists of three horizontal stripes in red, blue and green separated by thin white bands. Red symbolizes the sun and the savanna, blue represents the Gambia River that flows through the country, green reflects forests and agriculture, while the white stripes stand for peace and unity.
The current national flag was officially adopted on February 18, 1965, when The Gambia gained independence from the United Kingdom. Designed by accountant Louis Thomasi, it has remained unchanged and is not associated with any political party, emphasizing national unity.
