Dominica

The national flag of Dominica features a green field with a centered cross of yellow, black and white stripes, a red disc bearing the Sisserou Parrot and ten green stars. Green represents the island's lush forests, the cross symbolizes the Christian faith, the colors reflect the nation's people and fertile land, while the parrot and stars represent Dominica's unique wildlife and its ten parishes.

Dominica adopted its current national flag on November 3, 1978, upon gaining independence from the United Kingdom. Designed by Alwin Bully, it has undergone minor refinements while preserving its symbolism of nature, unity and national identity.
