Comoros
The national flag of the Comoros features four horizontal stripes in yellow, white, red and blue with a green triangle at the hoist containing a white crescent and four white stars. The colors represent the four main islands: Mohéli (yellow), Mayotte (white), Anjouan (red) and Grande Comore (blue). The green triangle, crescent and stars symbolize Islam and the unity of the archipelago.
The current flag of the Comoros was officially adopted on January 7, 2002, following constitutional reforms. It incorporates elements from earlier national flags while emphasizing the country's four islands, Islamic heritage and national unity.
