Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
The national flag of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines consists of three vertical bands in blue, gold and green, with three green diamonds arranged in a V shape on the gold band. Blue represents the Caribbean Sea and tropical sky, gold symbolizes sunshine and the warm spirit of the people, green reflects the islands' lush vegetation, and the diamonds represent the Grenadine islands, earning the country the nickname 'Gems of the Antilles'.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines officially adopted its current national flag on October 21, 1985, replacing the earlier version introduced at independence in 1979. The simplified design retained the national colors and the distinctive diamond emblem.
