Czech Republic
The national flag of the Czech Republic consists of two horizontal stripes in white and red with a blue triangle extending from the hoist. White symbolizes peace and honesty, red represents courage and the sacrifices made for freedom, while blue stands for loyalty, justice and truth.
The flag was first adopted by Czechoslovakia on March 30, 1920. After the peaceful dissolution of Czechoslovakia, the Czech Republic officially retained the flag on January 1, 1993. Today it represents the country's sovereignty, democratic traditions and historical heritage.
